Lawn Fawn and Tombow Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello there!!  Today, the Lawn Fawn design team is teaming up the gang at Tombow to bring you a collaboration blog hop!  Tombow has generously given us some of their amazing products to work with, and I used them on my card today!

To create my card, I started off by using my new Tombow Brights Dual Tip Markers.  I scribbled them onto a blending palette, and picked them up with a wet paint brush, and painted onto damp watercolor paper. The slightly damp paper allowed them to blend into a beautiful orange, pink and purple ombre, but because it was only damp and not super wet, it left hard edges which I love on this particular background.  I diecut the panel with the Dotted Rectangles Stackables, and added a white hill with the Simple Stitched Hillside borders.  I stamped and colored the birds from Flamingo Together, then stamped the sun from Hello Sunshine in Carrot ink, stamped off once.  I added shading with a copic marker.  Behind the sun are two Puffy Cloud Frames diecuts.  I stamped a sentiment from Flamingo Together, and then used the Tombow Extreme Tape Runner to adhere the panel to a white card base.  The Extreme adhesive is perfect for watercolor pieces!  It keeps even slightly warped paper flat!

Color Throwdown #449

Hello there!  Today, I am sharing my last post as guest designer for the Color Throwdown Challenge for the month of June!  Thank you to TCD for having me... it's be soon much fun!

A new challenge starts today!  Challenge #449 is orange, brown and green!

This color combo screams boy to me, and I thought this adorable little Paper Smooches dinosaur was perfect for the occasion!

To create my card, I started off by watercoloring an orange background on watercolor paper, then diecut it with a stitched rectangle die.  I added a strip of patterned paper from my stash to the bottom of the panel, then stamped the dinosaur from the Huge Hugs stamp set, colored him, and fussy cut him out.  To set the scene, I added some palm trees using the Lawn Fawn Palm Trees dies, and some rocks using the Paper Smooches Ocean Scene dies.  I stamped a sentiment from Huge Hugs 2, and added some accents with a white gel pen, and then popped the panel up on a kraft card base.

Big Hugs

Lawn Fawn and Ellen Hutson: Love Ya Bunches

Hello there!!  Today I have a fun post to share with you!  Lawn Fawn has teamed up with our friends at Ellen Hutson for a collaboration stamp and die set called Love Ya Bunches as part of their United We Flourish Campaign.  Ellen explains more about the campaign here:

Last November we began celebrating our 10th anniversary with our United We Flourish theme. We would not be here without the amazing companies we work with, the designers who create stunning projects showcasing the amazing products being created AND you our fabulous customers! YOU are such a vital part of our creative community - you inspire & encourage us! Your response to United We Flourish was overwhelming and heart-warming. We heard repeatedly from you that you appreciate how our little company works together with the other manufacturers we carry to bring you their products and education showing how to use those products. To thank you for your constant support and encouragement, we have something incredibly special we began working on shortly after that anniversary.
We have partnered with some of our friends to offer exclusive limited edition stamp & die sets!!! These sets will be available for a limited time (most likely 3-6 months) after each release, depending on how quickly you snap them up. The theme of these stamp sets are uplifting and fun.
We are thrilled to present the first one to you... Love Ya Bunches by Lawn Fawn exclusively for Ellen Hutson LLC. United We Flourish, because we’re better together!

Isn't it just SO cute?!  It's limited edition, so don't wait!  Once it's sold out, it's gone for good!

Here is a card I made using the adorable Love Ya Bunches stamp set and coordinating dies...

To create my card, I started out by watercoloring a background using shades of green and yellow distress inks.  When it was dry, I diecut it with the largest Outside In Stitched Rectangle die, then stamped and colored some of the images from Love Ya Bunches with copic markers.  I popped everything up with foam tape and stamped a sentiment from the set just below the monkeys.  I added some white gel pen accents and popped the panel up on a white card base.

Reverse Confetti June SFYTT

Hello there!  Today, I have a card to share with you for the Reverse Confetti June SFYTT!  There is still time to play along!

Here is the June sketch:

And here is my card!  To create my card, I started off with a white card base.  I cut strips of patterned paper from the Warm Hearts paper pad.  They measure 1.25" x 5.25" each. Then I diecut a Lacy Circle from white cardstock to use to ground my focal point.  I stamped and colored the cake and cake plate from Candles 'n Confetti, diecut them with the coordinating Candles 'n Confetti Confetti Cuts and popped that up with foam tape.  To the right of that, I stamped a sentiment from the Outlined stamp set in Royal Purple ink.  For some added interest, I added some Linked Garland borders cut from white cardstock, and added a scattering of purple sequins.

June SFYTT

The white on white pattern of the garland adds some interest without being to busy and competing with the fun patterned paper.

Here is sketch #227:

And here is my card!  To create my card, I cut down a piece of watercolor paper to 4" x 5.25" and used my Artist Loft watercolors to paint a bright wash of color in the center of the panel.  When it was dry, I put it in my MISTI, and stamped a sentiment from the Forever in Our Hearts stamp set.  For the image in the bottom right corner, I stamped the clouds from the Take Flight stamp set, and added a few diecut herats from the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts die set.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Celebrate and Color Throwdown #448

Hello there!  It's our final day of the Lawn Fawn June inspiration week!  Today, we are showcasing a few different products, but my card today features the Celebrate border die.

I made this card especially for my mom for her birthday last week.  She sews by profession, and she's so great at it! :)

To create my card, I started off by diecutting a piece of Watercolor Wishes and Perfectly Plaid Rainbow patterned papers with the Stitched Rectangles Stackables dies.  I stamped and colored images from the Sewn With Love stamp set, and then diecut everything with the coordinating dies.  I wanted the Celebrate border to look like it was coming unraveled from the sewing machine thread, so I was careful to color the thread image the same color as the Peacock cardstock that I used to diecut the border.  I popped everything up with foam tape, and stamped a sentiment from the Sewn with Love stamp set in Peacock ink just above the Celebrate border diecut to complete the sentiment.  I mounted the panel on a Zig Zag Rectangle Stackable diecut, and then mounted it on a Peacock card base with foam tape.  To finish things off, I added accents with a white gel pen.

Celebrate

I used the new Color Throwdown Challenge color combo for this card.  Challenge #448 starts today!  I hope you will play along... it's a fun one! :)

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Pretty Poppies

Hello there!  Today marks day 4 of Lawn Fawn inspiration week!!  Today, the team is showcasing the Pretty Poppies stand alone dies!

To create my card, I started off by watercoloring wide stripes onto a piece of watercolor paper using Hickory Smoke distress ink.  When the panel was dry, I diecut it once with the Outside In Stitched Rectangles Stackables, and again with the Outside In Circles Stackables.  I diecut the Poppies from Ballet Slippers cardstock and inked the edges with Picked Raspberry distress ink, then cut the leaves from Cilantro cardstock and inked the edges with Fresh Cut Grass ink.  I glued the leaves down with a glue pen, and popped each layer of the poppy up with foam tape,  I stamped a sentiment from Happy Happy Happy , diecut it with the coordinating dies, and added a scattering of grey sequins before mounting the panel up on a Narwhal cardstock base.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Aloha

Hello there!  Welcome to day 3 of Lawn Fawn June inspiration week!  Today, we are showcasing the Aloha stamp set and Scripty Aloha die.

I create my card, I started off by diecutting a piece of watercolor paper with the Outside In Stitched Rectangles dies.  I used distress inks in Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio to watercolor the bottom right side of the panel.  I diecut a hill with the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders out of white cardstock, along with a white palm tree using the Palm Trees dies.  I adhered the hill and palm tree trunk with a glue pen, then popped up the palm leaves up with foam tape.  For the sentiment, I diecut the Scripty Aloha three times from Peacock cardstock and once from white cardstock.  I layered them all together with a glue pen and then glued the 3D sentiment to the panel.  I added a scattering of iridescent sequins then popped the panel up on a white card base with foam tape.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Push Here

Hello there!  It's day 2 of Lawn Fawn June Inspiration Week, and today, the team is showcasing the Push Here stamp set and coordinating dies!  Push Here is perfect for all of your interactive cards!

For my project today, I created a combination card/gift card holder.  I started off with a landscape card base cut from Ballet Slippers cardstock.  I used papers from the Let's Polka Mon Amie paper pad, and cut them using the Dotted Rectangles Stackables dies.  I stamped and colored images from the Here's the Scoop stamp set, then fussy cut them with scissors.  I arranged them on my patterned paper panel, then created a custom sentiment using a partial sentiment from Baked With Love and the Scripty Sweet dies.  I mounted that panel on a Zig Zag Rectangle diecut, then popped it up on the pink card base with foam tape.

Sweet Wishes

On the inside of the card, I used more of the Let's Polka Mon Amie papers, diecut using the Dotted Rectangles Stackables again.  I used the largest Lift the Flap dies to cut a flap in the center of the panel, and decorated it with more images from Here's the Scoop.  I used the Push Here stamp set to stamp a little arrow and sentiment where the flap opens, and stamped and colored the heart from that set, which I diecut and popped up with foam tape.

Sweet Wishes

Opening the flap reveals a gift card for sweet treats! :)  The gift card is held in place using the Simple Gift Card Slots die.

Sweet Wishes

I hope you enjoyed my project today!  Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn blog to see lots more inspiration from the design team!  Stop back by tomorrow as I have another project to share with you!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Plane and Simple

Hello there! It's that time again!  Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week has begun!  Today, the design team is showcasing the adorable Plane and Simple stamp set and Stitched Trails die set.

To create my card, I started off by diecutting a piece of watercolor paper with the largest of the new Outside In Stitched Rectangles.  I used post-it tape to mask off a strip about 1/3 of the way down the panel.  I used distress inks in blues and greens to ink a background, then added some splatters of clean clear water and Peacock Feathers distress ink.  I stamped and colored images from Plane and Simple, then before popping them up with foam tape, I used the Stitched Trails dies to add a heart shaped flight trail on the watercolored area, and another die from the same die set to add some interest under that area.  I popped up the plane and clouds, and stamped a sentiment from the Plane and Simple set to finish off my card, then mounted it to a Peacock cardstock base.

You're My Universe {Paper Smooches}

Hello there!  Today, I have a card to share with you for the Paper Smooches June Challenge!  The theme this month is Men.

Even though I have a husband and am a mom to two amazing boys, masculine cards are always hard for me.  I am not sure why that is... but when I saw the theme for this month's challenge, I knew I had to play along because I don't have nearly enough boy cards on hand.

I pulled out one of my favorite Paper Smooches stamp sets, Space Cadet.  I started off by ink blending a background using Peacock Feathers, Lucky Clover, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord distress inks.  I splattered on some clean clear water to bleach out some areas, then added white spatters with watered down acrylic paint.  I stamped and colored images from the Space Cadet stamp set, then diecut them with the coordinating dies.  To create the moon, I diecut a circle from white cardstock, then used a stencil from the Papertrey Ink Out of This World mini kit to add the fun pattern with Pumice Stone distress ink.  I adhered the moon down with a glue pen, and popped everything else with foam tape.  I used the Space dies to diecut some white stars for the sky, then stamped a sentiment from the Space Cadet stamp set on a strip of white cardstock.  To finish things off, I added some white gel pen accents, and popped the panel up on a white card base with foam tape.

You're My Universe

That's all for me today!  Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Hello there!  Today, I have a card to share with you for the new Color Throwdown Challenge!

This week's Color Throwdown - #447 -  is navy, aqua, lime and kraft! :)

For my card today, I used some fun products from Neat and Tangled, and a few things from Lawn Fawn as well.  To create my card, I started off with a kraft card base.  I diecut a piece of plaid paper from my stash with the Outside In Stitched Rectangles from Lawn Fawn.  I diecut a piece of kraft cardstock with the Simple Stitched Hillside borders from Lawn Fawn, and inked it with brown distress ink.  I used the Making Waves dies for the circular focal point, which I diecut from white cardstock and inked with Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.  I stamped and colored images from the adorable Yo Ho Ho stamp set, and popped those up with foam tape in front of the ocean waves.  For the sentiment, I stamped a banner from the Lawn Fawn Bannertastic stamp set, colored it with copic markers, and stamped a sentiment from the Yo Ho Ho stamp set.

Forever in Our Hearts {Reverse Confetti}

Hello there!  Today, I have a card to share with you, using Reverse Confetti products, for the Inspired by All The Little Things Challenge #60.  Here is the inspiration photo:

Sympathy cards are hard.  So hard for so many reasons.  I saw the inspiration photo and though that the softness of the color palette was perfect for a sympathy card that I need to make.

To create my card, I started off by ink blending Piggy Bank ink through the Leaf Lattice stencil onto white card stock using an ink blending tool.  I concentrated the pattern in the bottom right corner, and stamped off often to keep the color soft.  Following the inspiration photo, I stamped and colored images from the Rose Garden stamp set, and then diecut them with the coordinating Rose Garden Confetti Cuts.  I diecut the second largest Lacy Scalloped Frames Confetti Cuts from white cardstock, then stamped a sentiment from the Forever in Our Hearts stamp set in black ink.  I felt like the black sentiment stood out a little too much against the white and soft colors, so I added black watercolor splatters on the stenciled panel to tie the pieces together.  I adhered the roses onto the sentiment panel with foam tape, and then mounted that to the stenciled panel using foam tape.  I added the panel a white card base, and added a scattering of sequins to finish things off.

Forever in our heart

I wanted very light roses, and used the following copic markers to achieve this look:

Rose: R000, R30, R32
Leaves: G12, G20

I used a flicking motion to add the darkest color, then added my medium and blended everything out with my lightest marker.

Forever in our heart

Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)
