PDCC #129

Hello there! Happy Monday! I just love color challenges. They really encourage me to step outside of my comfort zone and work with color combinations that I would never even think about. This week at Playdate Cafe, Challenge #129 is to use pale yellow, plum, and dark grey.

This one was a little tough for me, as these are three colors that I almost NEVER reach, especially together. Here is what I came up with...

For this card, I used Paper Smooches Pretty Momma, Geo-Graphic and Good Gab.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, London Fog

Goodness, where is the time going!?! With just about a month until school is out for the summer, it is almost time to start planning those backyard BBQs! Earlier this week, I got my new Paper Smooches stamps (SQUEEE!) and one of the new sets, called Alfresco, is PERFECT for these sorts of fun occasions. It is filled with a bunch of adorable picnic foods. I used most of them on this card. It is not available it the store yet, but you will be able to find it here on May 1st (along with 2 other adorable new sets!). I had so much fun making this card! "Join Us" is included in the Alfresco set, and "You're Invited" is from the Good Gab sentiment set.

Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop

Time again for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop! I absolutely ADORE the inspiration photo. Pale Aqua and Hot Pink are not colors that I would initially think to pair together, but boy do they make a beautiful statement! See for yourself... here is the inpiration photo for this month's hop.

See, I told you! :) Inspired by the color combo, the use of multiple patterns and the vintage feel of the patterns, I created this card:

I used the Butterfly Dreams stamp set and coordinating die along with a sentiment from Tremendous Treats Birthday. The large butterfly cut out was made using the Signature Series Butterfly. The fun pinked squares were made using the Button Card die set and the sentiment is stamped on a Double Ended Banner diecut. Those yummy patterned papers are from the Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist Pattern Paper Packs (LOVE!!) and the Funky Town Paper Pad.

That's all for now... Thanks for stopping by! Off to hop! :)

Pretty & Purple

Hello there!  Happy Monday!! :)  So a week or so ago, I was chosen as the Queen of Green over at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog and won a gift certificate to the fabulous online store, Simon Says Stamp.  I had been eyeing Lawn Fawn's Flutter By stamp set, so that was the first thing I put into my cart!  It arrived on the same day that my Papertrey Ink order arrived, and I knew I had to put the new PTI color, Winter Wisteria, to work right away!  Love this color!  I used it as the card base for this card, along with a few other sides of PTI purple, and some patterned paper from PTI and Lawn Fawn.

I gotta tell ya, I am not much of a purple girl when it comes to card making, but this new color has totally changed my mind about that!! :)  That's all for now... thanks for stopping by! :)

PDCC #128 - Pink and Orange

This week over at the Play Date Cafe, the challenge is to use one of my favorite color combinations - Pink & Orange. I love the two paired together, but I don't use them together alot in papercrafting... I think I will start! For this card, I used the Get Outta Town set and the Simply Said set from Paper Smooches. The little trio of dots are from Reflections and the borders are hand drawn with a ruler and black marker. I know one of the flowers looks yellow in these pictures, but I promise it's orange in real life... and it's hard to see here, but I used a Stardust pen for a little added sparkle in the middle of each flower :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Paper Smooches Get Outta Town, Simply Said, Reflections
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White
Other: Copic Markers, Ruler, Popdots

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - {4/19 - 5/2} & A Thank You

It is so hard to believe that my time as a SPARKS girl has come to an end, and that this is my final project for my term. I would stay on forever if I could... I had a blast creating and you can bet that, even though I will be a design team alumni, I will still be participating right along with the rest of you! Above you can see our inspiration photo for this challenge. Perfect for summer!! :) You can find all of the details here. I chose to use the cones as my jumping off point for this card. Whenever I see argyle, I think of ice cream cones, so of course, I had to pull out my Debonair stamp set. I stamped two rows of argyle in Versamark and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The ice cream cones are from the Little Lady set. The cherry buttons are threaded with Paper Smooches Mocha Twine.

And as a thank you for this opportunity, I made this card for Kim. Paper Smooches stamps bring so much FUN to my craft table, and I am so thankful for that. Thank you Kim for allowing me to be part of such an amazing team! It is an experience I will never forget, and has been a dream come true for me!

For this card, I used the Healthy Vibes, Smarty Pants and Reflections sets as well as a sentiment from Word Salad.

Sudden Inspiration...

Hello there! Ever had a burst of sudden inspiration? You see something that triggers an idea in your head and you have to put the wheels in motion immediately? Yeah, that happened to me this morning as I was checking out my Google Reader for new posts. I came across this post from one of my favorite blogs, Oh My Vera, a blog dedicated to all things Vera Bradley (I am slightly addicted).

When I saw this photo, I went right to my craft room and started on my card:

Here is what I came up with. The rose is from Pretty Momma, the leaves are from Reflections and the sentiment from Yummers, all by Paper Smooches.

Don't forget, you could win some of these great stamps by playing along with our current Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!! Tomorrow is the last day to get your entries in! :)

More Paper Smooches Fun!

I got some crafty time this weekend, and made this card with the intent to link it up to the Tuesday Trigger post over at Moxie Fab, but I ran out of daylight, and couldn't get any pictures to turn out, so I took my pictures this morning. Missed the deadline to link up, but I will still share with you today :)

I will admit, I LOVE a good sale. When Target clearanced out their Easter goodies, I stocked up on paper shred. Not sure that I will ever use it all (it was only $.44 a bag!) but I sure will try. I use some kraft colored shred to make the birds nest. The little bird is from the My Peeps set, and the leaves and sentiment are from the Gently Seasoned set.

Happy Monday! :)

Stamps: Paper Smooches My Peeps, Gently Seasoned
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, Hawaiian Shores, Smokey Shadow

I Look Up To You Dad

Hi there! Happy Saturday! So in an effort to keep ahead of the game with my card making, I decided to make a Father's Day card for one of my boys to give my husband for Father's Day. I usually make a few different onces and then let them choose which one they each want to give. My oldest little guy (not so little, he will be TEN next month, OMG!) is notorious for wearing daddy's hat and sunglasses every chance he gets, so I made this card with Logan in mind :) I used a bunch of Paper Smooches sets (are you really surprised!?!? *wink*) including Smoocheroos, Hang Ups, Chubby Chum Pals, Whirligigs, Zoo Crew, My Guy, and Word Up (I think that's all!)

That's all for now... off to work on a project for the Paper Crafts Call! :)

PDCC#126 - I *heart* You

Happy Monday all! Getting back in the swing of things after having a week of spring break with the kiddos and my husband home. I loved every second! Gots lots of necessary stuff done around the house, and had lots of fun too! :)

So just last week, I was chosen as one of the Cream of the Crop over at Market Street Stamps for the month of March. I received my gift certificate, and placed my order right away for some goodies that had been on my wishlist. I was shocked at the amazing shipping time! I had my winnings in hand just 2 days after placing my order. Happy, happy! I couldn't wait to ink up my new set, Cheep Talk. SO adorable! With the new Play Date Cafe Challenge - #126 in mind, I chose to use Memento London Fog ink. The tricky thing about this set is that some parts of the image are solid, and some are outlined. Obviously, whatever ink color you use will determine what color bird bellies you have. :) The grey outline sort of washed out once I added my copic coloring, so I traced the outlines with a thin black marker for definition. The little word bubble and sentiment are pieces from Paper Smooches sets - Smoocheroos and Helping Hands.

That's it for now! Have a great day!! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Market Street Stamps Cheep Talk, Paper Smooches Smoocheroos, Helping Hands
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, London Fog
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, Aqua Mist Pattern Paper Pack
Other: Copic Markers, PTI Hawaiian Shores Satin Ribbon
